I Love Fig's~ So I Have Seen It In Grocery Store's But Never Purchased It. So Made My Very Own~

Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs, Separated
  • 1 1/4 Cups Sugar, Divided ( Use Real Sugar)
  • 2 Cups Milk, Scalded
  • 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 Pint Light Cream ( High Quality Cream Only)
  • 1/2 Cup Cream Sherry
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla (Purest Vanilla)
  • 1 Quart Figs, Crushed Or Pureed' ( Ripened Figs)

Instructions

Beat The Egg Yolks And 1/2 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons Of Sugar. Add The Milk Slowly, Stirring Constantly. Cook Over Low Heat Until Quite Hot, But Do NOT Boil. Combine The Egg Whites With The Remaining Sugar And Beat To A Light Froth. Pour The Cooked Egg-Milk Mixture Into The Egg Whites, Stirring Constantly. Stir In The Lemon Juice. Add The Cream, Sherry, Vanilla, And Figs, Blending Well.Pour The Mixture Into A 5 Quart Freezer Container. Follow The Manufacturer's Direction For Freezing In Your Ice Cream Maker~

And For Your Garnish Place A Sliced Fig And A Mint Leaf And Place In A Beautiful Crystal Serving Ice Cream Dish~ Chilled. And Enjoy The Wonderful Treat On A Hot Summer Day Or Just When You Desire To Tantalize Your Palate'
