It Was A Hot Summer Day And I Was Enjoying A Taste Of Brandy , And Eating Peaches~ And Tasted Great Together~ As I Was Swinging On My Porch Swing~ Enjoying The Cool Southern Breeze~ I Was Thinking Of The Ways I Could Put Them Two Together~ So Here's What I Done~ And Lord And Behold Tasted Great! And Thought How Could I Save Some For Later!

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound, 13 Ounces (Fresh Peach Halves)
  • 1/2 Cup Real Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brandy, Preferably a Peach Brandy
  • 3-4 Drops Almond Extract

Instructions

"Peel Your Fresh Peaches & Put Them In A Stone Pot~ Set The Pot Into A Vessel Of Water, And Let It Boil Until Tender~ Then Make A Syrup Of Brandy And Sugar~ 1 Pound Of Sugar To A Quart Of Brandy. Set In Your Peaches~ They Will Be Fit For Use In A Month~ Brown Sugar Will Do Very Well~ Better Without Peeling The Peaches~

Drain The Peaches And Reserve 1Cup Of The Juice. Boil The Reserved Peach Juice Until It Is Reduced To 1/2 cup. Add 1/2 Cup Of Sugar And 1/2 Cup Of Brandy To The Juice. Mix Well~Add The Almond Extract. Cool

Pour The Brandy Syrup Over The Peaches And Serve, Or Pack The Peaches In A Sterilized 1-Quart Glass Jar, Add The Brandy Syrup, And Seal

Serve With A Nice Cooked Ham, Or Hot Buttermilk Southern Biscuits~ Or Over Ice Cream Or Just Enjoy Them Alone~ :)
