There are so many things you can do with tortilla wraps, fill them with cheese & ham, or chocolate spread, or chicken and rice. What about tacos, enchiladas or a tortilla bake? Even your own take on a lasagne, using the tortillas as the layers. Whatever you please once you taste these you'll never want to buy them from a shop again!
In a large mixing bowl, mix up the dry ingredients; the flour, salt and baking powder. Combine it all together. Now add the oil and slowly pour the water in whilst using your hands to pull and squeeze the mixture so it becomes smooth and even. Once perfected, shape your dough into a ball and divide into half. Now half each half and half again until you've formed 16 perfect little balls of dough.
Now lightly pat down on each ball using your palm, to flatten the top, cover with cling film or paper towels and let the dough's rest for 15 minutes.
Now this is the hard bit. Heat a frying pan on medium-high, use no oil or anything! On a well-floured board or worktop, use a rolling pin to roll out each dough ball into a rough circle. Use plenty flour to stop the dough from sticking. Once the pan becomes very hot place the tortilla onto the surface of the pan and keep an eye on it, watch for pale golden spots or when it starts to bubble, flip to the other side. The first side usually takes 1 minute then 30 seconds for the other side. Note: as you make more and more the pan will become extremely hot so after your 5th or 6th tortilla it will only take 20-30 seconds for each side to be toasted.
