And The Jewels Part Came When After Preparing I Didn't Notice My Dinner Ring Was Missing And So Upset But Managed Dinner Party Anyway When A Dinner Guest Said "Is This Your Ring" It Was In His Cabbage Roll It Had Fallen Off My Hand While Preparing The Meat, So Thought That Would Be A Good Name For Them~

Ingredients

  • 1 Head Of Young Tender Cabbage
  • 2 lbs. Ground Deer Venison
  • 1 Cup Uncle Bens Wild Rice Prepared
  • 1 Lg Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Lg Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1 Lg Spanish Onion
  • 1 Bunch Green Onions ( 5)
  • 1/2 cup Black Walnuts ( Chopped)
  • 1 12 oz Bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1 12 oz Raspberry Jelly ( With And/Or With Out Seeds)
  • Salt To Taste
  • Pepper To Taste
  • Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

Instructions

Take Your Cabbage Gently Pull Of 10 Whole Cabbage Leaves, Rinse Them With Cool Water, Set A'side And Take A Large Pot Fill Half Way With Water Bring To A Boil, Then Place Your Cabbage Leaves In Boiling Water For @ 5 Minutes~ Removes From Boiling Water Gently Place Each Leaf In A Bowl Of Ice Water Dip And Remove This Helps Stop The Cooking Process And Keeps The Beautiful Green Colour' After Finished With All 10 Set A'side Again.

Then Take The 2 Lbs Of Wild Ground Deer Venison And Place In Skillet Then Dice The One Large Green Bell Pepper Making Sure All Same Size Making Them Cook Evenly 1/4'd Squares~ Then Take The One Large Yellow Bell Pepper And Dice Into 1/4'd Squares After Removal Of The Seeds And Washed~ Then Take The 1 Large Onion Peel And Dice Into 1/4 Inch Squares, Then Take The 5 Green Onions Wash Then Cut The Root Ends Off And Cut Them Up Into 1/4's~ Place Now Place All In A Deep Skillet And Brown.

After Finished Browning And Sauté The Bell Peppers And Onions Set A'side~ Now Take One Box Uncle Bens Wild Rice Cook As Directed Via Package~ After Completed Cooking Rice Fluff It Up Using A Fork Now Take The 1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts And Add To Wild Rice Now Add Everything Together All That Has Been Cooked, Now Take Your Cabbage Leaves Gently Lay On Preparation Dish And Take The Prepared Filling 1-2 Tablespoons Depending On Your Desired Size~ Place On Cabbage Roll And Gently Roll Be Sure And Fold In Both Ends, Make All 10 Rolls Set A'side Now Get Your Chosen Baking Dish And A Preparation Bowl Take The 12 oz Bottle Of Heinz Chili Sauce Pour Into Bowl, Now Take 12 oz Bottle Of Raspberry Jelly and Pour Into Bowl, 1/2 Teaspoon Of Cinnamon Into Bowl Blend Well Now Take A Large Spoon And Ladle Pre Sauce On Backing Dish Not All Just Enough To Cover The Dish~

Now Take Your Cabbage Rolls And Place The Brought Together Side Down As Will Not Open And Waste Filling. Now Pour All The Remaining Sauce Over The Cabbage Rolls And Gently Slide Those In The Oven at 325 Degrees For 45 Minutes, Then Remove Let Rest @ 15 Minutes. Then Remove From Baking Dish Being Very Careful~ And Place On Your Chosen Desired Platter For Serving And Garnish With Candied Jeweled Candy On Side With Garnish Of Fresh Mint Leaves~ It's A Unique Flavour' Hope You Enjoy Them~ Bon A'ppetit
